camp scholarships
The Jewish Federation of Central Alabama makes overnight summer camp experience available to local Jewish families and youth. Each child of a member(s) in good standing of the Jewish Federation of Central Alabama is eligible for grants to offset the overnight Jewish youth camp registration fees. Priority will be given to first time campers.
Each camper may receive up to
$800 to attend a four-week or longer session or $400 for a two-week session.
To be eligible for a JFCA Grant, please note the following policies and procedures:

Must attend a school located within the geographic area served by JFCA.

Must have resided in the geographic area for the school year immediately preceding the grant application.

Must belong to a family who is a current member of the Jewish Federation of Central Alabama and who will use the grant in the calendar year for which it is awarded.

This grant will be used for an overnight camping program that is approved by JFCA.

DISCRETION OF THE BOARD: All financial awards are at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Central Alabama. Nothing in these policies constitutes an entitlement to assistance. The number of grants awarded in any given year depends upon funds available and qualifications of the applicants. JFCA reserves the right to determine the number of grants to be awarded.

If an applicant is awarded a scholarship, they must have their camp send an invoice directly to JFCA for payment.

JFCA BYLAWS: Section 1, Membership Eligibility & Admission Procedure: Any Jewish person or his/her spouse, 18 years of age or over, who supports the purpose of this organization, upholds the principles of our faith, and contributes a monetary sum to this Federation, shall be a member of the Federation for the fiscal year in which the contribution was made and the following fiscal year. The surviving spouse of a deceased member shall retain eligibility for membership.
