Executive Director

After graduating from the George Washington University in D.C., Phillip taught social studies at the former Lee High School in Montgomery as a Teach for America Corps member.

Cardozo School of Law, and became a member of the Alabama Bar.

Phil was embraced by the Montgomery Jewish Community during his time teaching at Lee High School, and he embraced the community.

He returned and started his law career as policy counsel at Alabama Appleseed Center for Law and Justice. Next he became the City of Montgomery senior policy director, working to expand youth educational and economic programs. during this time, Phil was invited to join the JFCA board of directors, quickly working his way up to board president.

In October 2022, Phil accepted the position of JFCA executive director. The following month, Phillip was elected to represent District 74 in the Alabama House of Representatives. He serves as the lone Jewish lawmaker.
